Loungin’ and Scroungin’

January 3, 2011

It was a unseasonably warm, beautiful, sunny day here in Lincoln County. While I was filling water and doing chores, I snapped a few pics to share:

Look at this giant bale of wheat hay! A group of about 50 ewes will have this polished off by Thursday or Friday.

Chekov says, "Hey! Get outta my light!" He deserves to lounge during the day, because he works most of the night time.

As I was finishing up, I noticed that about half of the butcher lambs were at one end of their pen, scrounging through the leftovers of the wheat hay. Go figure–they have a brand new gorgeous bale of alfalfa (the other half of the group was hogging that down).

I guess this would be an example of the lambs exercising freedom of choice...

Just another ordinary day at Cordero Farms.
